Ekhaus Latta

About Ekhaus Latta
Founded in 2011 by Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta in New York, Eckhaus Latta is an American fashion brand known for experimental design that blurs fashion and contemporary art. The duo met at Rhode Island School of Design, where Eckhaus studied sculpture and Latta studied textiles. The brand gained recognition for using unconventional materials (including fishing line and plastic), 3D weaving techniques, and gender-neutral designs featuring oversized silhouettes and deconstructed styles. Collections include signature painted denim, cropped hoodies, printed jerseys, and textured knitwear. Eckhaus Latta presents biannually at New York Fashion Week and has exhibited at prestigious institutions including the Whitney Museum (2018), MoMA PS1, The Hammer Museum, and the 55th Venice Biennale. The brand’s retail spaces in Los Angeles and New York double as immersive art installations. Notable collaborations include footwear collections with Nike and Camper. Eckhaus Latta casts diverse, non-professional models in campaigns and shows, championing inclusivity in fashion. The brand maintains a commitment to sustainability and slow fashion, designing pieces with long lifecycles and releasing collections throughout the year rather than adhering to seasonal schedules. With 60 people dedicated to designing store visuals and only 6 designing eyewear products, Eckhaus Latta prioritizes the experiential aspect of fashion retail while maintaining a relatively small-scale production model focused on craftsmanship and authenticity.
