Courrèges

About Courrèges
Courrèges is space-age fashion brought back to earth. Founded in 1961 by André Courrèges in Paris, the brand revolutionized 1960s fashion with futuristic designs that celebrated modernism, youth culture, and technological possibility. Courrèges is credited with inventing the miniskirt (alongside Mary Quant) and defining the go-go boot, creating an aesthetic that merged geometric shapes, architectural silhouettes, and bold use of materials like vinyl and PVC. The original vision was radical: clean lines, functional design, and clothing that allowed women freedom of movement. Courrèges’ iconic white and silver color schemes, along with his signature AC logo, became symbols of optimistic futurism. After André’s death in 2016 and various ownership changes, the brand found new life in 2020 when Nicolas di Felice was appointed creative director. Di Felice, who trained under Nicolas Ghesquière at both Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton, has successfully revitalized Courrèges for a contemporary audience. He’s brought back the brand’s youthful energy while stripping away overly conceptual elements, creating pieces that feel heritage and modern simultaneously: sexy, chic, Parisienne. The brand now attracts a new generation of customers while honoring its space-age DNA. Current collections maintain the architectural precision and bold spirit of the original while feeling relevant for today’s fashion landscape. Courrèges proves that a heritage brand can remain true to its revolutionary roots while evolving for modern times.
